Best Football Field 2017: Campo Giuseppe
While Cebu’s football community is growing fast, football fields are disappearing just as quick. But those behind Giuseppe Football Club bucked this trend and put up a “field of dreams” for grassroots development. The first of its kind in Cebu, the 20-meter by 40-meter football field was built using international standards and high-grade materials, particularly the artificial grass from Italy. The drainage system ensures that the pitch can be used during a downpour, while ample lighting allows training and games at night. Recently, the Aboitiz Cup grassroots matches were held at Campo Giuseppe amid the rains. Hopefully, other football stakeholders follow Campo Giuseppe’s lead and set up their own field of dreams as well.
