MUSEO SUGBO. The structure that houses the Museo Sugbo is a story in itself. Once known as the Carcel de Cebu, or the Cebu provincial jail, the structure was built in the late 19th century as the Visayas district’s main prison facility.
After several renovations, additional buildings, and the transfer of the provincial jail, mostly coral-stone structure is now home to the six galleries of the Museo Sugbo, which was set up in 2008 as a “repository of Cebuano Heritage.”
