Restaurant of the Year 2017: No. 9

On the perennial shortlist, No. 9 surely had it coming. Perhaps they took their time to really grow into the establishment they are now. Excellent and informed service make the experience pleasant with recommendations across their now expanded and rather inspired Latin-Mediterranean menu done with avant-garde cookery. Those in the know, of course, make a beeline for their signature Fideo Negro — broken noodles with squid ink and meat, Spanish chorizo, and garlic aioli. Another popular item would be the sous-vide and flash grilled cerdo, now served with a clam soffritto. Excellent signature drinks dot an extensive menu of classics and desserts definitely do not disappoint. Old world charm and tradition meet modern methods and innovation to combine in this love potion that finally have us smitten to give it this year’s nod.
